- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente.

- While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add the garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant but not browned.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the garlic oil.
- Toss the pasta with the oil, gradually adding reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese and chopped parsley.
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste before serving.
