  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place chicken breasts on a cutting board and gently pound to ¾-inch thickness for even cooking. Drizzle with olive oil and season with black pepper and smoked paprika if using. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Wrap each chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon, starting from the top and overlapping slightly. Tuck ends underneath and secure with toothpicks if needed. Space evenly on the baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, minced garlic, soy sauce, and a drizzle of olive oil until smooth. Set aside 2 tablespoons for serving and reserve the rest for basting.
  5. Bake chicken for 20 minutes. Halfway through, rotate the pan for even browning. Chicken should be partially cooked and bacon lightly crisped.
  6. Remove from oven and brush generously with the maple garlic glaze. Return to oven and bake 8–10 minutes more, basting once halfway, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and glaze is bubbling and caramelized.
  7. Remove toothpicks, transfer to a serving platter, and rest for 5–7 minutes. Drizzle with reserved warm glaze and garnish with parsley. Serve immediately with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.

Notes

STORAGE: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or covered skillet with a splash of broth to maintain moisture. Do not freeze as the glaze texture may degrade.
MAKE AHEAD: Assemble raw bacon-wrapped chicken and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Make glaze separately and store in a jar. Bake and glaze fresh for best results.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Use turkey bacon or center-cut bacon for a leaner option. Substitute coconut aminos for soy sauce for gluten-free. For lower sugar, halve the maple syrup and add 1 tsp Dijon mustard for balance.
PRO TIPS: Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Rest the chicken to retain juices. Apply glaze late to prevent burning. Use a wire rack for crispier bacon.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Pair with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, or buttered noodles. Serve with watermelon feta salad or grilled corn for a complete meal.
